Program Overview
Lenart Regional Gifted Center is a Selective Enrollment Chicago Public School serving 250 gifted students, Kindergarten through Eighth grade, with an accelerated and enriched program. Our goal at Lenart is to continue to achieve academic excellence by teaching to the whole child, using data to drive instruction and achievement, providing personalized and differentiated instruction, and partnering with parents and various community organizations.
Lenart also house a full day Preschool program for 3 and 4 years old through the CPS Chicago Early Learning. The Preschool program is separate from our K-8 program and students that attend the Preschool program will still need to through the Selective Enrollment Application process to be selected for K-8 Gifted Program. We are a small school that consist of one classroom for each grade. Students in grades K-3 are self-contained and receive instruction in the core content areas (English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Science) from their homeroom teacher. Students in grades 4-5 will begin to learn to transition between two teachers providing instruction in the core content areas. One teacher specializes in Math and Science and the other teacher specializes English Language Arts and Social Science. Students in grades 6-8 follow a traditional middle school schedule with four different teachers providing instruction in each of the core content areas (Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Science).
